The Pirate Ship NING PO
Location: Santa Catalina Island, Ca

An opium trader, high-seas raider, trojan horse warship, smuggler, pirate ship, prison ship, tourist trap? restaurant? movie prop?

The Chinese pirate junk NING PO, once touted as the oldest vessel afloat, rests today buried in the mud beneath the placid waters of Catalina Harbor.

Her remains were relocated by my cousin and I on June 29, 2014 and over the course of the next few years I would revisit the site with friends and make numerous discoveries!
